Indirect fired air heater can be of two types

• Once through type – where fresh air is heated to desired temperature and sent to process. Typical application is dryer where always fresh hot air is fed and moisture laden exhaust air is let out.
• Recirculating type – where hot air is circulated through user equipment. Hot air goes to user equipment, transfers part of heat and air at lesser temperature returns back to air heater to replenish heat. This arrangment is energy efficient.

Nimotherm offers Shell In Shell Hot Air Generator either gas fired or oil fired. In indirect fired air heater, combustion product of fuel ( flue gas)do not get mixed with circulating hot air. There is separate chimney required to exhaust flue gases.

It is once through design as fresh air enters at one end and hot air leaves at other end.

Shell in shell air heater is constructionally special as it uses no. of concentric shells and not tubes. In this construction, fresh air is heated to desired temperature and desired pressure. System consists of air heater, fan, burner and control panel.

Typical use is for drier. If the application is such that hot air can be circulated back to air heater to save on energy ( eg. Air heater required for painting oven) then air heater construction differs
